FLU SEASON IS HERE. WHO NEEDS A FLU SHOT?

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, everyone 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine annually. (H1N1 will be included in the seasonal flu vaccine beginning this year.) It’s especially
important for the following groups, either because they are at high risk of developing serious complications or because they live with or care for people at high risk:

Pregnant women; children younger than age 5, but especially children younger than age 2; people age 50 years and older; people with certain chronic medical conditions; people who live in long-term care facilities; and people who live with or care for those at high risk for complications,
including healthcare workers, household contacts of persons at high risk for complications and household contacts and caregivers of children less than 6 months of age. (These children are too young to be vaccinated.)
